Our mouths are host to countless bacteria, some of which can cause problems if left unchecked. These bacteria adhere to the lipid structure of the oil when you swish, then get removed through the act of spitting out the oil.

How do you oil pull?

Place about 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth, swishing and pulling it around your mouth and through the teeth for 2–20 minutes. Spit out the oil in the trash or toilet. Do not swallow the oil. To finish, rinse your mouth with warm water.
